Guildford's biggest celebration of game development is back on Friday 19 February 2027, bringing together world-renowned studios, independent developers, students and graduates for another unmissable day of games, creativity and community.
Following a hugely successful 2026 event that welcomed over 4,000 attendees, the guildford.games Festival returns to G Live with an even bigger programme, featuring more than 70 speakers, approximately 60 exhibitors and plenty of opportunities to learn, connect and discover what's next for the games industry.
And this year, we're putting an even bigger spotlight on independent developers and the next generation of games industry talent.
We know it's a challenging time to be making games, particularly for independent developers. That's why we're going beyond simply providing a space to exhibit.
For 2027, we're introducing Indie Amplified, a new initiative designed to help independent games reach bigger audiences and create opportunities beyond the festival itself.
One indie exhibitor at the guildford.games Festival will be selected to receive a free showcase slot at For One Night Only (FONO), the UK games industry showcase celebrating the incredible games and talent coming out of the UK.
It's an opportunity for an indie developer to take their game from the festival floor in Guildford to a global audience!
Guildford has an extraordinary history of game development, with some of the world's most recognisable games and franchises created right here.
The guildford.games Festival brings that community together, from ambitious independent studios and emerging creators to established developers responsible for some of gaming's biggest hits. Expect a packed programme of talks, panels, exhibitions, networking and portfolio reviews, with opportunities to meet the people behind the games, gain invaluable industry insights and make connections that could shape your future career.
We're also delighted to welcome Larian Studios as Gold Sponsors of the 2027 Festival.
Dylan Beale, Studio Head of Larian Guildford, said:
"Guildford is an iconic hub for game development, and it's a huge privilege for Larian to be part of a community shaped by so many talented, creative and passionate people. guildford.games Festival is a wonderful opportunity to come together, celebrate the community, share our love of games, and inspire the next generation of developers."
We're proud to be continuing our charity partnership with Oakleaf Enterprise, a Surrey-based mental health charity working to transform lives and build new futures for adults managing their mental health.
Supporting the wellbeing of our community remains an important part of what we do, and we're looking forward to working with Oakleaf again in 2027.
Lauran Carter, from guildford.games, said:
"Every year, guildford.games Festival welcomes thousands of students, graduates, independent creators and established industry professionals to share knowledge, forge connections and create opportunities, and the 2027 edition will be bigger and better than ever.
guildford.games is committed to celebrating Guildford's creative legacy while helping build the future of the industry. We know that building a successful games business is particularly tough at the moment, so we're making sure this festival really supports indies, helps inspire the next generation of developers and continues to champion the Guildford studios and individuals behind some of the world's best-loved games."
The guildford.games Festival takes place on Friday 19 February 2027 at G Live, Guildford.
Whether you're an experienced developer, an indie creator, a student hoping to break into the industry or simply passionate about games, we'd love to see you there.
